As I mentioned in the last post, when you are in Japan, you can see the strong bond with Germany, especially in October :D

The entrance |
This day I went with Taka and a friend of him to the "Deutschlandfest". It was like an Open-Air "Oktoberfest". Many booths with drinks, food and goods from Germany. Even goods with the "Ampelmännchen"! (the little man on the pedestrian traffic lights) These are even in Germany rare! ^^

Through the whole day were some acts like a Japanese piano player, a hold-a-full-1-liter-glass-with-water-as-long-as-you-can contest and a medieval fighting contest. For the fighters was the stage a bit small, so it was hard to fight. Especially for the ones with long-ranged weapons. Nevertheless, it wasn't just a simulation but an actual contest with some rules. I never saw it before, so it was especially for me very interesting. In the second half they used even real metal weapons. Okay, I doubt they were sharp ;)

Medieval Fight! |
The last act was the presentation of typical German "Oktoberfest Volksmusik" (folklore). This was ashaming for me, because ... WHY do I have to hear this???? You see, I don't like this music and I'll never be. But of course, it's tradition at the "Oktoberfest", so I had to bear it. And the Japanese people, especially the young ones seemed to love it. So most of us had a good time and that's what counts. Nevertheless ... WHY???

They're so lucky that they don't understand the German songs ;) |
A ray of hope: I got to know the JDG (Japanese German Group) and some of its members. It was really cool, because they organize some events and I think I will attend some of them. I know, I came here to focus on Japan only, but this sounds like a lot of fun :) And the girls are gorgeous :P

The contest with the long name they actually did it in some rounds until the final and women and men did it divided ^^ |
